Reaching the Island

Transportation to Gökçeada is provided only by sea. A ferryboat is used for sea transportation run by Gestaş from the port of Çanakkale Kabatepe to Gökçeada Kuzulimanı. We recommend that visitors coming by car buy online tickets from the official site of Gestaş, due to the busy summer months. The journey to the island takes 1 hour 15 minutes.

By Car

While coming from Istanbul, you can reach the Kabatepe Port, where the Gökçeada ferry departs, by going in the direction of Tekirdağ, Keşan, Gelibolu, Eceabat, via the TEM highway.

While coming from İzmir, Ankara, Eskişehir, Bursa, you have to cross the Dardanelles and pass to the Thrace region. You have 3 options for this.

TO PASS THE DARDANELLES

* Lapseki – Gelibolu (20 mins)
* Çanakkale – Eceabat – (15 mins)
* Çanakkale – Kilitbahir – (7 mins)

With the ticket you buy for the strait crossing, you can take the Gökçeada ferry free of charge on the same day.

By Coach

There are two bus companies traveling to Gökçeada. In the summer, there are two mutual trips between Istanbul and Gökçeada every day, morning and night. Buses make their departures and arrivals through the island. Buses do not pass to the island in the winter period. After taking the coaches serving between İstanbul and Çanakkale, you need to get off in Eceabat and take the Kabatepe minibus from there. Those who come by coach from Izmir can get off in Eceabat instead of Çanakkale and take the minibuses from there to Kabatepe port.
